TAlly is an automated linguistic scrutiny to detect potential translatability issues and suggest solutions.
It is cApStAn’s in-house application that consults our database of hundreds of potential translatability issues and generates a report.

Human Expertise Built In
A cApStAn Senior Linguist reviews the report and proposes preventive action in agreement with the content owners/authors, and;
(if applicable), incorporates it to the feedback from the linguists’ translatability assessment, which can then focus on new issues.

- Senior linguist at cApStAn reviews the report and
- evaluates and/or tailors the relevant comments,
- suggests workarounds without loss of meaning with
- the (tailored) Translation Adaptation Note and/or
- alternative source wording,
- pinpoints the solutions to be applied in the translations in consultation with the content owners/authors.
3. Final Translatability Report with TAlly (reviewed and edited by Senior Linguist at cApStAn)
Before discussing the proposed preventive action with the content authors, cApStAn Project managers:
- propose solutions to the identified issues in form of translation and adaptation notes or rewording the source text
- single out general guidelines for the translation of the particular content
- propose key terms and definitions to be approved by the content authors
